Loved the new Tami Hoag novel, "Down the Darkest Road." She went back to her former novel and brought some characters back. She also went back in time to 1990 so the police work was different and so was the life style with no electronics and DNA was still sketchy. The character was a mother of a girl that had been missing for four years and her husband had killed himself from his depression. She was left with a younger daughter and a life of wanting revenge on the monster who took her daughter. They know who it is and the police can't do anything about it. No evidence that can be used. He's known for his record as a pervert but nothing more has been proven. The mother is taking things into her own hands since the police can't do what she can. Good read!

Finished Tami Hoag's "Secrets to the Grave." It was a sequel to her last novel and ended up being a pretty good read. Former FBI profiler, Vince and his wife, Anne, are helping to find out who brutally murdered Marissa Fordham leaving a 4 year old daughter who got caught up in the brutality and almost died. Seems everyone is a suspect and the daughter isn't helping even though she saw the murderer. She said "Daddy killed Mommy," but that she calls everyone who ever dated her mother, Daddy. Lots of suspense but I figured it out way before the end.

Boss called me on my day off and told me my job is being cut back to a part time position and that I have to go on the floor on a face the customer job. Can't go back on the front desk so it looks like I'll be facing many hours on my feet. Just when I thought I might be getting those heel spurs calmed down. Ruined my day off and now I'm having a sleepless night worrying about it. My personal feeling is that he's trying to get rid of the older workers and put younger ones in our place. Wish retirement were a little closer.

Birthday wishes

I spent the last day off (Friday) with a migraine that lasted two days. I have today off and it's finally gone away so I was able to finish Tami Hoag's latest, "Deeper Than the Dead." Excellent read! It had me wondering till the end who dunit. A small town brings in an FBI agent to solve a serial killing. The victims are young women who have started over in life after either a life of crime, prostitution, drugs or abuse. The killer tortures them by puncturing their ear drums, gluing their eyes and mouth shut, then he stabs them repeatedly over a period of days. The story was great but gruesome! I'll probably have nightmares.

On the eve of her 38th birthday I want to wish my wonderful daughter-in-law the happiest of days. My son brought her into our lives 20 years ago and married her almost 16 years ago. She's a delight and very special to us all. Thanks Son and Happy Birthday Daughter!
